A major media request to review details spelled out in a comprehensive report of the Steven Truscott case was temporarily turned down by an Ontario Court of Appeal judge last week.

| Castlegar Citizen calls it quits |

The Castlegar (BC) Citizen has published its last edition. The paper was formed in 2000 by striking employees at the Hollinger-owned Castlegar Sun. Seeing no end to the strike, which started November 4, 1999, nine employees started their own paper with help from the Communications, Energy and Paperworkers Union of Canada (CEP) Local 2000.

Glacier Ventures has announced its acquisition of Madison Publishing, effective July 1, 2005.
Madison's community newspaper holdings include the Lillooet (BC) Bridge River News, the Sechelt/Gibsons (BC) Coast Reporter, the Squamish (BC) Chief, and the Whistler (BC) Question.

| Osprey continues expansion in Ontario |

The Osprey Media Income Fund continues to expand its holdings in Ontario.
On June 24, Osprey announced its purchase of the Stirling (ON) Community Press. It is a paper that publishes three zoned editions in Eastern Ontario that are distributed to over 58,000 homes. Alan Coxwell, who co-founded the Community Press in 1985, will join Osprey.
