In today's global economy, community newspapers face the
daily challenge of keeping up with changing market trends, fighting
for advertising dollars and staying relevant to their audience,
Canadians young and old in all parts of the country. Focusing on
"Healthy Living for Community Newspapers," Santé 2006
will explore ways to maintain a strong business operation on the
ground, as well as examine the growth of the industry as a whole.

Winners were announced at the Better Newspapers Competition
(BNC) Banquet on May 27th, 2006 in Quebec City at the 87th
annual Canadian Community Newspapers Association (CCNA) National Convention.
All CCNA members will be mailed a copy of the 2006 BNC Winners book. An electonic version will also be made available in early June.

The Canadian Community
Newspapers Association is pleased to present
its 87th National Convention in partnership with the Quebec
Community Newspapers Association .
The 87th National Convention will take place May 24-27, 2006, in
Québec City, and will be attended by industry leaders and senior
managers from community newspapers across Canada.
Programme highlights:
Professional Development Sessions – A
range of educational topics to help delegates improve their product
and bottom line. Information exchange opportunities will include
sessions, keynotes, round-table discussions, and more.
Great Ideas Exchange – An
entertaining and informative presentation of the best advertising
and promotional ideas of 2005.
CIDA Awards Reception and Presentations – Hosted
by the Canadian International Development Agency, this event recognizes
outstanding writing by staff journalists on the subject of international
cooperation and reveals the winners of the 2006 CIDA Awards.
Better Newspapers Competition Awards Banquet – The
highlight and closing event of the convention, this premier event
applauds excellence in the community newspaper industry.
Trade Exhibits - Featuring suppliers of the
latest technology and services available to newspaper publishers.
