Final standings for the 2004 Better Newspapers Competition (BNC) were announced at the awards ceremony held on Saturday, June 5, 2004, in Gatineau, Quebec.

All Canadian Community Newspapers Association (CCNA) members, and other subscribers to The Publisher, will be mailed their copy of the 2004 BNC Winners Book. As in previous years, the book is available for download as a PDF (2004 BNC Winners Book - 12 MB PDF).

This year, for the first time, this book has been made available online and completely unabridged, featuring full-length judges comments, images of the all top three winners, and colour photos!
